Accessibility

This website is run on behalf of Follifoot with Plompton Parish Council. We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website.

The Parish Council endeavours to ensure that its website is made easier to use and more accessible for people with disabilities, in the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.

Compatibility with Browsers and Assistive Technology

The village website uses an up to date WordPress responsive platform, designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Mobile Phones
  • PC and Mac Computers
  • All Tablet Devices
  • All known Browsers
  • Screen Readers

For example, that means you should be able to:

  • zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen
  • navigate the website using just a keyboard
  • navigate nearly all the website using speech recognition software
  • listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA and VoiceOver)
  • change colours, contrast levels and fonts

We’ve also made the website text as clear and simple as possible to understand.

All agendas and minutes of Parish Council Meetings are available to read or have read by a screen reader in html format (as opposed to in pdf documents)

  • Some images on the website pages may not have a text alternative, so the information on them isn’t available to people using a screen reader. See WCAG 2.1 success criterion 1.1.1 (non-text content).
