The fabulous Follifoot Coffee & Cake Ladies did it again this morning! A wonderful last Friday of the Month Coffee & Cake fundraising morning held at our favourite pub The Harewood Arms. It was a very full house indeed, warming coffees and teas flying out of the kitchen door and an amazing array of utterly delicious cakes to choose from, and we can’t wait to find out how much was raised for Yorkshire Cancer Research. Huge thanks and well done to the Coffee and Cake Ladies and to Jeanette and Alan.

Nicky from the Coffee & Cake Club…

Many Thanks to everyone in the Village who has enjoyed & supported Coffee & Cake Fridays in the Village Hall this year. Our main aim is to provide a relaxed & welcoming environment for local people & families to meet.
We also collect donations which are shared between village, local & some national charities. Today we have raised £237 for Martin House Hospice. The total raised for our charities this year was £1867. Thank you for your generosity.
We resume Coffee & Cake again on Friday 30th Jan 2026. 😊

FOFS Quiz Night

What a fantastic evening in Follifoot last night! 💛✨

A huge thank you to Anne Dewsnip and Andy for being the most amazing hosts and quiz masters – the perfect blend of fun, energy and friendly competition! And to everyone in our lovely village who came together to support our wonderful school… you truly are what makes Follifoot such a special place to live.

A big shout-out to Olive and James for warmly welcoming all our guests as they arrived at the village hall – they did such a brilliant job and made everyone feel right at home. And thank you to Cath for the beautiful table decorations that made the hall look so magical. 🎄💐

A personal and heartfelt thank you as well to my friends who donated such generous raffle and auction prizes:

✨ Nuno at Grantley Hall

✨ Matthew Mackaness and Nick Mackaness at Rudding Park Hotel

✨ Janette Baker at the Harewood Arms

✨ Kate at the Shoulder of Mutton

Your kindness and the kindness of everyone who donated amazing prizes added so much excitement to the evening and helped make a real difference to our fundraising. We appreciate you more than you know! 💙

And of course, a massive thank you to the whole Friends of Follifoot School team for pulling everything together – from the delicious fish & chips supper to the raffle, auction, and all the little touches that made it a night to remember. Your hard work and passion for the school shine through in everything we do.

Events like this remind me once again how lucky we are to be part of such a supportive, generous and fun community. Every ticket bought, every raffle entry, every auction bid all of it goes straight back into helping our brilliant village school, and we truly couldn’t do it without you.

A huge ‘thank you’ to Linda and Mark for sharing their knowledge and skills with almost 40 members of our village community this morning. Linda and Mark delivered their training session on what to do in emergency situations, how to perform effective CPR, and how to use a defibrillator. I’m sure that everyone who attended will now feel more confident that ‘Bystanders Can Be Lifesavers’ and knows that in an emergency situation ‘Every Second Counts’. Linda and Mark also very kindly donated a Bleed Control Pack which will be placed in the cabinet with the defibrillator (located in the old red telephone box at the top of Main Street). Thank you once again Linda and Mark!

June 2025

The fabulous Follifoot Coffee and Cake ladies did it again! Providing a wonderful selection of cakes and bakes, and coffee, for the last Friday of the month Coffee & Cake morning in the village hall. This month they were raising much needed funds for Saint Michael’s Hospice . All of the ladies are members of the Follifoot WI, and all of them are Star Bakers! But this month’s winner of the Star Baker pinny is Kath. Well done Kath and huge thanks to all of you for your fabulous cakes and coffee and the very best Friday morning welcome ever.
