July 2023

Via Claire Rees… FOFS (Friends of Follifoot School) would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who supported Follifete on July 10th. It was a big success!
All the money raised goes directly to support the children whether it be funding school trips, classroom resources, coaches to transport the children around, school discos and other projects throughout the year to name a few. We couldn’t have done it without the village support, so THANK YOU!!!
We were also thankful for the sunshine too!

Work is due to continue until mid-October when there’ll be the exciting big reveal.

Art Alert!

The ‘We love Follifoot, Please Don’t Litter’ Summer Art Exhibition is installed around the village.

The exhibition will be in place for just over two weeks until Monday 7th September and guides to the pictures locations, and their artists, will be available at the Village Store.

Sadly, because of safe social distancing rules, we cannot organise any other get togethers or a village litter pick during this time, but we hope that everyone will enjoy looking at the fabulous pictures created by our super Follifoot artists.

However I would love to take photos of the artists with their pictures, so if you are happy to have your picture taken sometime this weekend please let me know at jm@rudding.com

With huge thanks to the artists, the Parish Council, Anne & Andy Dewsnip and everyone who has agreed to have a poster on their land.

June 4th – message regarding road works on two local roads. Signage is up.

Dear Colleagues

I am writing to inform you that North Yorkshire Highways will be carrying out carriageway patching on Pannal Road and Haggs Road on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th June. Please see location maps attached. Advance signage advising of the works is already in-situ.

Due to the nature of the works, a road closure will be in force during the hours of 09:30am and 15:30pm and a fully signed diversion will be in place. On-site personnel will assist in managing local access to properties within the closure. Please be advised there may be extended periods when access will not be possible due to the nature of the works and physical constraints of the site. Pedestrians and Emergency vehicles will be permitted access at all times.

Operatives working on site will be observing the Government guidance on social distancing.

Please note, that due to current circumstances there will not be a letter drop advising local residents of the work so if Parish Councils have the facility to disseminate this information further, it will be appreciated.

We would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any disruption these works may cause and would again request everyone’s cooperation to help ensure an efficiently and safely executed project.
